SOP/NDMA

SOP (Standard Operating Procedures)/ NDMA (National Disaster Management Authority) School safety has been defined as the creation of safe environments for children starting from their homes to their schools and back.

PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE AT THE LOCAL LEVEL

1. School has nominated safety focal point teacher.
2. School has sensitized the school management committee.
3. School has developed a cadre of peer educators.

SCHOOL DISASTER MANAGEMENT PLAN HAS

1. Systems of warning (centralized PA system)
2. Identification of evacuation routes
3. Access by emergency vehicles
4. Care of children with special needs
5. Stockpiling of emergency equipment and regular maintenance
6. Arrangement for orderly release of students during emergency
7. Site map indicating evacuation routes and Assembly Areas
